Dear Readers,
Perhaps you will find my posting of the MODIS Rapidfire satellite images of the Jakobshavn Glacier repetitive, but it is just a particular fascination of mine.
It is startling to see the retreat, now beyond its former farthest retreat, recorded in 2006.
The retreat of the ice sheet, all over Greenland, this year, is quite astounding, and has revealed terrain that has not been exposed for over a thousand and perhaps for thousands of years.
I think we can safely say that this retreat is unnaturally rapid.
